For a number of reasons many properties, hotels, land, serviced apartments, resorts and other vehicles never make it on to the open market as they are only offered to a select number of wealthy families, private equity companies and other corporate bodies. Particularly in Asia, many owners of prime properties are actually private families who do not use traditional channels for sale and typically appoint a single broker who has been given instructions not to advertise.
